Hon. Rwamukwaya Visits Gaculiro Vocational Training Center
Minister of State in charge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Minister Olivier Rwamukwaya on Friday 13, October, paid an official visit to Gaculiro Vocational Training Center.
The purpose of his visit was to witness how Gaculiro Vocational Training Center is moving forward as far as TVET implementation program is concerned.
During his visit, Hon. Rwamukwaya toured the campus especially the Rwanda TVET Training Institute which is now at its final construction stages.
The State Minister toured the training center alongside Jerome Gasana, WDA Director General, and the district Vice Mayor in charge of Social Affairs.
After touring the campus and workshops, the minister met teaching staff members and discussed with them about advancing technical education and skills development activities in general.
Minister Rwamukwaya toured the campus especially the workshops, got explanations on equipment, tools and practical sessions done in the workshops.
He also toured the hospitality training center which offers the training in the trades of masonry, motor vehicle mechanics, hair dressing, culinary arts and others.
While talking to the students he found in the workshops, he urged them to have an entrepreneurial spirit.
“Job creation is future that you have to start venturing in while you’re still at school, instead of starting it after completion of training at school,” Hon. Rwamukwaya told the students.
After touring the campus and workshops, minister Rwamukwaya also had a brief meeting with the staff members and discussed with them about advancing TVET policy.
Concluding his visit, the minister commended Gaculiro Vocational Training Center its part in advancing TVET and called them on more achievements
