Over 22000 Students Due To Sit TSS National Exams

The examinations which will last for seven working days will see; 22302 candidates sit for their National TVET written examination for technical secondary.

A total of 22302 candidates are to start their 2017 national TVT written examination for technical secondary schools on November 22, 2017.

Through WDA, the Ministry of Education conducted national practical examinations for Senior Six students in Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) schools and now the theory exams are about to begin.

Written exams are scheduled from November 21 to 30. Mukantabana Rose, Workforce Development Authority senior examination officer and certification said exams are to be conducted in about 89 examination centers across the country and about 25 courses will be examined.

The examinations which will last for seven working days will see; 22302 candidates sit for their National TVET written examination for technical secondary Schools.  Covering 25 trades such as electrical engineering, agriculture, forestry, design, accountancy, construction, hotel operations, secretarial service, public works, and general mechanics.

Mukantabana observed that, the percentage of females is 45.02% while male accounting for 54, 08%.

WDA revealed that it plans to deploy 892 and 297 examiners oversee the examination exercise countrywide. She warned candidates and heads of centres at various training institutions against any form of malpractice.

Established in 2009, WDA is in charge of regulating, promoting and guiding the implementation of TVET system, which covers vocational schools, technical schools and polytechnics.

The Rwandan government embarked on promoting the TVET system to ensure that students are equipped with hands-on skills early in their academic journey.
